On the way up to Newcastle, we actually saw a sign (the brown one that tells you about tourist spots) that said "Angel of the North". We were quite curious about it and decided to stop here on the way to Durham. Basically it is just a huge metal statue. It is as big as a big jumbo plane. If have a look at the second picture, you can probably spot Mei San and myself there. We are the 2 small things at the base of the statue. That was just to show how gigantic this thing was.
